At Wellnex, we believe that behind every bottle there is a story worth telling. And few are as unique as that of Cavas Mestres, the winery we are pleased to have brought to Mexico in 2024 and whose labels have been selected as the official sparkling wine for the Michelin Guide Mexico 2026 ceremony, held on May 20, 2026, in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
The designation of official partners of the Michelin Guide Mexico under the name Mestres Powered by Wellnex spans three years, and this year also included the presentation of the award for Best Service in Mexico 2026 — a recognition that celebrates the craft of those who make every table a complete experience.
Mestres produces cava using the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle and aging periods of up to 40 years, from the Catalan varieties Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada, in vineyards between 40 and 65 years old. A family house from Sant Sadurnà d'Anoia, in the Penedès region, Catalonia, founded in 1861 with documented roots since 1312: more than 30 generations dedicated to viticulture.
That a cava with such tradition accompanies the Michelin Guide in Mexico reflects what we seek in every label of our selection: origin, method, and a story worth discovering.
